fik-shunh.

Some can't seem to see or understand my interest and passion for comic books and superheroes. Something I've grown up with since I was a kid. People can't see past the bright colors, or the awkward costuming. people see funny colored men in tights that live in a nonexistent world filled with fake powers, impossible feats, and cheesy stories. if you ask me, these comic books and characters hold more realism in their world then most people with opinions in our world. the heroes in comic books hold character, meaning, a purpose of will, and a sense of loss of fear over almost anything. Something some of us can't relate to. as we struggle in areas of life, we can't seem to pull out what it takes to get what needs to be done...done. Tasks that in the comic books, would be accomplished without difficulty. I read about the hero that is chosen for greatness out of a billion other people. that this hero holds the ability to overcome great fear. I read about the hero that overcomes death from the darkest place, to come back and build his own legacy. These heroes hold powers that only we could wish to have. but actually in turn, the heroes in these "cheesy stories," hold struggles and values that keep them more human then most of us can even say we really are. To draw back and hold love, meaning, and fight for what really means most. To give up that very power they possess to do and save what may mean most then there very own life. To put others before their very own "self." a characteristic of bravery that some fake to have now. An act of true character. So I ask to you that question... how fake are these heroes compared to the so called "real people" that fake now?I leave with this - I was asked with a sarcastic tone, "you still read comic books?" my reply, "you still don't have an imagination?"

god bless,

jaded.

as thoughts blur together, and past & present meet...you have to acknowledge what means most, and let the rest go.
